Volunteer Behind the Scenes

Become a part of the behind-the-scenes work that goes into rescuing dogs in need!

We always welcome new dog-loving volunteers who embody our core values of openness and inclusiveness. Our behind-the-scenes roles are designed for volunteers who are ready and willing to make a greater time commitment to our life-saving mission. Volunteers typically dedicate a minimum of 3-4 hours per week to the rescue and perform a variety of activities that are vital to make our operation run smoothly.

Adoption

Our Adoption Team are the ambassadors who unite our dogs with their forever families, including processing applications, organizing meetings between adopters and dogs, and finalizing adoptions.
Foster

Our Foster Team ensures all our dogs have temporary foster homes while they look for their adoptive home and ensures our fosters feel supported by our community throughout the process.
Marketing

Our Marketing Team develops strategic content to elevate Hearts & Bones Rescue’s lifesaving programs across our communication channels including social media, email marketing, our website, and more.
Fundraising

Our Development Team raises the lifesaving funds that support our work including assisting with various fundraising initiatives, data entry, event planning, and donor management.
Medical

Our Medical Team tracks our dogs’ medical needs, organizes medical appointments when they need professional attention, and collates and distributes medical records.
Alumni

Our Alumni Team are the day-to-day liaisons for our adopters after they take home their new pups and ensure our adopters feel supported by our community.
Operations

Our Operations Team ensures Hearts & Bones Rescue has the infrastructure to support our lifesaving work including technology, finance, and accounting.
Transport

Our Transport Review Team synthesizes and organizes the data for every dog we bring into the rescue from our partner shelters, making sure every dog is eligible for transport prior to their trip from Dallas to NYC.
